West Ham produced a fine away performance on Saturday afternoon to record just their third away win of the season with a 1-0 victory over Tottenham.
The Hammers became the first side to both score and win against Spurs, respectively, in their new stadium, with Michail Antonio’s second half goal enough to give Manuel Pellegrini’s side victory.
The home side began the game the quicker of the two, testing Lukasz Fabianski a number of times in the first half, though the Hammers always looked a threat on the break.
Pellegrini’s side grew into the game after half time as Spurs began to tire, with Marko Arnautovic and Antonio both continuing to cause problems on the counter attack.
And the two combined for the only goal of the game in the 67th minute, after a pinpoint lofted pass from Arnautovic was controlled brilliantly by Antonio, and the forward had the composure to finish well past Hugo Lloris.
Fabian Balbuena capped a fine display from Pellegrini’s side late on in stoppage time, clearing Vincent Janssen’s header off the line, and here is how we rated the Hammers’ performance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
