Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly failed with an attempt to sign Amadou Diawara, who has recently been linked with a move to West Ham United.
It is claimed by Il Mattino, as cited in a report from Calciomercato, that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side made efforts to lure the midfielder away from Napoli this month.
However, Wolves have been unsuccessful in their pursuit of the youngster, who is said to figure heavily in Carlo Ancelotti’s plans at the Stadio San Paolo.

Diawara was linked with a move to the London Stadium earlier on in the January transfer window, with reports touting him as a potential replacement for Pedro Obiang.
West Ham, though, will face an uphill battle if they are to chase a deal for the Guinean, it seems, with Napoli evidently intent on retaining his services.
The 21-year-old has made six starts in Serie A this season and has come off the bench on four other occasions.
