West Ham wary of wasting money on Nasri

Samir Nasri looks likely to sign a six-month deal at West Ham, providing he can prove his fitness, according to Mirror Sport.

West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini is keen to land the former Manchester City midfielder, who he won the Premier League with in 2014, on an £80,000-a-week deal.

However, West Ham are wary of their growing expenditure, with several highly paid players currently out injured for the Hammers, meaning the club will expect Nasri to meet a high level of fitness before they complete a deal.

Nasri is currently working hard to get back into shape, with insiders claiming he still needs to lose up to five kilos if he is to be ready for Premier League football come the turn of the year.

Currently banned from football for breaching WADA regulations, Nasri will be free to play football again in the New Year, and West Ham hope that he will be able to add some much needed quality to their squad.
