West Ham defender Angelo Ogbonna’s agent has addressed claims that he will depart to join Roma in the January transfer window.
It was reported on Thursday that the 30-year-old was being lined up by Serie A giants Roma and AC Milan, with his future at the London Stadium uncertain.
Ogbonna has fallen down the pecking order at West Ham following the appointment of Manuel Pellegrini in the summer. New recruits Issa Diop and Fabian Balbuena have been the defensive partnership of choice for the Hammers boss.

This has prompted speculation that the former Torino star could leave in January, with interest from his homeland said to have developed in recent times.
However, Italian news outlet Roma News have been in contact with Ogbonna’s agent Giovanni Branchini, who has refuted claims that the player will join Eusebio Di Francesco’s side when the transfer window opens.
Branchini dispelled the claims that his client will depart West Ham and said:
To date, there has been no contact, Ogbonna still has a five-year contract with West Ham and it [a transfer] seems to me impractical. It’s an invention of the press.
