David Moyes has revealed that he was close to taking the West Ham United managerial job in the summer, Football.London reports.
Moyes was hired on a six-month contract at West Ham after the club relieved Slaven Bilic of his duties midway through last season, with the Hammers in a relegation battle.
The Scotsman lead the Hammers to a respectable 13th place finish in the Premier League last season as they battled their way to survival.

However, the club decided against offering Moyes a new permanent deal and instead appointed former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini.
Moyes has since spoken to the Telegraph to say that he and his team were considering staying on at the club, but that he could have turned down the job had it been offered to him.
I don’t think we could have done any more than we did.
We weren’t interested in talking about my future until we knew we had got West Ham safe.
David Sullivan was okay with that and that is what we agreed. But when we came to speak in the summer, it was clear they wanted to go with someone else. Look, that’s fine, whether we would have taken the job if it was offered, is another matter…
