West Ham star Marko Arnautovic has been left unsure with regards to the extent of the knee injury he sustained in Sunday’s 3-1 win against Everton.
Arnautovic spoke to Sky Sports after turning in a standout display at Goodison Park and delivered an update on his condition after he was forced off in the second half.
West Ham clinched their first three points of the season on Merseyside and had Arnautovic to thank for leading the line in an exceptional manner.
The Austrian forward put Andriy Yarmolenko’s opening goal on a plate before the Ukrainian netted a fine second. Arnautovic proceeded to seal the win for West Ham in the second half as he tucked home the third of the afternoon.
Hammers star Arnautovic was coy when discussing the extent of his injury but was quick to point out that the knock was sustained behind his knee, not in his calf muscle.
I don’t know. We have to check now, it’s not my calf, it’s behind my knee. It is hurting a little bit. We are checking this week how it is going and we will see.
