Piroe’s opener came from a wonderfully simple attack.
Jarrod Bowen delivered towards the far post, Taty Castellanos headed the ball back across goal and Piroe made absolutely certain with the finishing touch. Sky Sports’ highlights show West Ham creating several further chances before half-time, including a powerful Konstantinos Mavropanos header and Castellanos shooting narrowly wide after combining with Divine Mukasa.

Austbø and Kanté finish Derby off
West Ham failed to turn their dominance into a second goal for much of the game, allowing Derby to remain within striking distance.
Austbø eventually removed the tension.
The £10million Deadline Day arrival reacted after Bowen failed to connect cleanly with an Arne Engels cross and converted his first West Ham goal.
We have already looked at why Austbø’s instant impact has given Nuno another major selection decision.
Kanté then made it 3-0 with an excellent low strike from outside the penalty area, meaning two West Ham substitutes opened their accounts in the closing stages.
The victory can now be added to our permanent West Ham fixtures and results guide, with the Hammers beginning to build genuine momentum after a difficult start.
