Former Newcastle United and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa reportedly turned down the chance to join West Ham this summer.
According to Foot 365, as cited by Get French Football News, the free agent rejected a Premier League return because he was holding out for a move to Lyon.
The player had been hoping that Lyon would turn to him to replace Nabil Fekir, who was being heavily linked with a move away from the Ligue 1 side throughout the transfer window.

Both Liverpool and Chelsea expressed an interest in Fekir, but the French international looks set to remain in Lyon for the immediate future.
Fekir’s decision to stay all but rules out a move to Lyon for Ben Arfa, who is a free agent after his contract with PSG expired.
Ben Arfa has seen his career tail off once again after an impressive stint in France earned him a move to the Ligue 1 champions.
He was unable to recreate that form in Paris and was banished from the first-team picture.
