Liverpool forward Xherdan Shaqiri has revealed that he ignored interest from a number of clubs, including West Ham United, in order to join the Reds in the summer.
As reported by Swiss outlet Blick, the 26-year-old was aware of interest from Manchester United, Southampton, West Ham and a few other clubs, but he was so keen to join Liverpool that he simply ignored any other approaches.
After Stoke City’s relegation to the Championship, Shaqiri was available for around £13m due to a clause in his contract and he was keen for a Premier League side to meet that amount as he wanted to continue playing in the top division.

As reported in Blick, a few teams made approaches to the Swiss international but he ignored them all once he found out that Jurgen Klopp was interested in bringing him to Anfield.
Having made an immediate impression by scoring an overhead kick against United in pre-season, Shaqiri has already begun making an impression on the Liverpool fanbase and he’ll hope to continue to impress them all season.
