West Ham are back in negotiations with Swansea City as they look to secure a deal for central defender Alfie Mawson, according to Sky Sports.
The Hammers have a long-standing interest in Mawson, who impressed for the Swans last season despite the club’s failure to avoid relegation down to the Championship.
Mawson was a January target for West Ham and it’s believed that they revived their pursuit of the player earlier on this summer, only to have ‘a number of offers’ declined by Swansea.

Nevertheless, the previous rejection from the Welsh club does not appear to have deterred West Ham, with talks having been reopened, according to Sky Sports.
Mawson is a man in demand this summer and a return to the Premier League looks rather likely ahead of next season. The report outlines West Ham as potential suitors, along with their fellow top-flight competitors Burnley and Fulham.
It’s likely that Swansea will demand a fee of at least £20 million for their star defender, who has evidently impressed West Ham since his move to the Liberty Stadium in 2016.
