West Ham are keeping tabs on Chris Smalling’s future at Manchester United, according to the Metro.
The report claims that the Hammers are prepared to make a move for the England international if he becomes available this summer.
Smalling, who started 28 games in the Premier League last season, faces the prospect of falling down the pecking order at Manchester United this summer.

Reports have linked United with big-money moves for the likes of Jerome Boateng and Raphael Varane after they ended their interest in Toby Alderweireld.
The Hammers themselves are in the market for a new central defender. Manuel Pellegrini’s side are in talks to sign Alfie Mawson from Swansea.
There is also a deal agreed in principle with Toulouse defender Issa Diop for €25 million.
Smalling could be seen as an alternative to either player should deals fall through, with Everton also in the running to sign Diop.
