Barcelona defender Marlon is edging closer to a move to West Ham with Nice confirming the player will not be returning to the club.
The club have released an official statement confirming that the player will not be returning to the Ligue 1 side, despite agreeing a two-year loan deal with Barcelona.
Marlon spent the first season of two on loan with Nice last season, where he caught the eye of several teams in Europe.

Leicester were also said to be interested in a deal for Marlon, but West Ham look set to win the race to sign the player.
However, Barcelona now look set to cash in on the player with a deal in the region of £15 million being discussed with West Ham.
The Catalan club are looking to raise funds this summer by selling fringe players and they appear to have taken the decision to sell Marlon, who made just a handful of appearances for the club.
