West Ham are close to agreeing a deal with Barcelona to sign Marlon on a permanent basis.
Reports in Spain from Mundo Deportivo claim that a deal between the two sides is close, with a fee in the region of €15-€18 million being discussed.
The defender had been one season into a two-year loan at Nice last season, where he caught the eye of several teams around Europe.

There had been some suggestions that the player would end his loan there, only to join the Hammers on loan.
However, with Barcelona looking to raise funds this summer, they now look set to cash in on Marlon, who could join the Hammers on a permanent basis.
The Catalan side have deemed the offer from West Ham too good to turn down for a player who has made just a couple of appearances for the first-team squad during his time at the club.
