West Ham have made a ‘tentative enquiry’ over a potential deal to sign Jack Butland from Stoke City, according to the Daily Mail.
The Hammers are on the lookout for a new first-choice goalkeeper this summer following the expiration of Joe Hart’s loan deal at the club. Adrian’s future at West Ham has also come under scrutiny in recent times.
Butland is looking all but set to leave Stoke following the club’s relegation from the Premier League this summer and an instant return to the top-flight is expected.

The Daily Mail claim that both West Ham and newly-promoted Wolves have lodged enquiries about Butland’s availability, but it seems as though Chelsea are also in the race for his signature.
Thibaut Courtois’ future at the club is uncertain and it seems the Blues will rival West Ham in their pursuit of the England international this summer.
Butland will not come cheaply, though. It’s stated in the report that if Wolves, Chelsea or West Ham want to land the goalkeeper, they will need to pay Stoke in excess of £30 million.
