West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur are both keen to sign Jack Grealish from Aston Villa this summer, according to a report from the Express.
It was claimed earlier on in the week that the Hammers had expressed an interest in recruiting Grealish from Villa this summer, but fresh reports indicate that Spurs are also in the race for his signature.
Grealish enjoyed a strong season for Steve Bruce’s men and was especially impressive during the run-in towards the end of the season.
Villa could find themselves in financial trouble this summer after failing to gain promotion to the Premier League and will be forced to balance the books. This means that key players, namely Grealish, are looking set for exits.

However, Villa are understood to be demanding a fee in the region of £40 million for their promising midfielder. This valuation is understood to have put both West Ham and Spurs off a move for the player.
The London duo are keen on Grealish and are seemingly admirers of his talents, but neither will bite the bullet and cough up a colossal sum of £40m, despite Villa’s wishes.
West Ham are stated to have held preliminary talks over a deal for the playmaker but if the Championship side do not lower their price tag, it seems a move will not be on the cards this summer.
