West Ham have not given up hope of signing Anderlecht midfielder Leander Dendoncker, despite Atletico Madrid reportedly having an arrangement to sign the player in the summer.
Sport Witness, who cite Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad, report that the Spanish side have agreed a potential deal to sign Dendoncker for €20m this summer, but aren’t committed to using it just yet.
In addition, if another club offers more than that agreed fee, Atletico have the right to match that offer. However, Dendoncker can’t be forced into accepting the move if he does not feel it is suitable.

That leaves the door open for the Hammers to reignite their interest, who reportedly made offers for the 23-year-old in January, along with Everton and Crystal Palace.
Dendoncker plays in the centre of midfield and has been a regular for Anderlecht this season, making 38 appearances including six in the Champions League.
The player has also represented Belgium at every youth level from U16’s right through to the senior squad.
With five games left to play, West Ham are currently 14th in the Premier League table, seven points clear of Southampton who occupy the final spot in the relegation zone.
