West Ham sent scouts to watch long-term target William Carvalho at the weekend as they look to improve their options at the end of the season as reported by Sport Witness.
Carvalho earned lots of praise for his performance in the game between Sporting and rivals Porto last week and is set to be the top target for the club in the summer after they infamously missed out on his signature last summer.
Sporting ended up losing the match 2-1 to Porto but the performance of Carvalho is one which has alerted those at West Ham that they want to sign him after missing out on him in the last couple of windows. This is not the first time West Ham have made checks on Carvalho this season after also scouting him in another game last month.

The midfielder has always been well renowned throughout Europe and has got an enhancing reputation which deserves a move to the Premier League this summer with the Hammers keen to bolster their midfield area.
A number of other Premier League clubs including Liverpool and Manchester United sent scouts to watch the player in that game.
