Former West Ham midfielder Kevin Nolan says that Slaven Bilic must select Mark Noble in his starting line-up for the game against Tottenham on Wednesday night.
Nolan, who is now the player-manager of Notts County, told West Ham’s official website that Noble’s character and leadership will be needed as the Hammers look to pull off an upset against an in-form Tottenham side.
He said:
Mark’s a great character and he’s a great lad. For me, he’s what West Ham need. West Ham need those sorts of players, especially heading into a game like Tottenham away. [He] wears his heart on his sleeve and loves West Ham. He’s a West Ham boy through and through, and for me he’s the perfect fit for the club and the captaincy and the way West Ham play.

Noble has been left on the bench by Bilic in recent weeks as the Croatian searches for a winning formula but he’s been unable to find it and Nolan thinks it is time to bring the club captain back into the fold.
With reports suggesting that Bilic only has a few games to save his job, he could very well take Nolan’s advice and recall the club captain to the starting line-up.
