According to Italian source Il Messaggero, West Ham winger, Sofiane Feghouli is set to leave the club with Serie A giants AS Roma poised to complete a deal for the ex-Valencia man.
The Algerian has had a pretty disappointing season so far for the Hammers. An injury-hit start to the campaign was followed by a number of substitute appearances and Feghouli didn’t make his first Premier League start until early January where it was over after just 15 minutes after he was sent off by Mike Dean against Manchester United.
His poor form has meant he’s been overlooked for the Algeria squad for this month’s African Cup of Nations where fellow Hammers Cheikhou Kouyate and Andre Ayew will be competing at with Senegal and Ghana respectively.
After struggling in England, it has been reported that he is very close to moving to Roma. It is understood that the winger will initially move to Roma on a loan deal and the Italian side will have the choice to make it permeant in six months time for a reported €9m. Roma are also set to offer Feghouli a yearly salary of €2m.
West Ham will surely look to have a replacement on the way before sanctioning Feghouli’s departure.
