Watford have made an opening offer of £8million and ‘up to £2million in add-ons’ for West Ham target and Brentford striker Scott Hogan, Ed Aarons of The Guardian reports.
West Ham have already made an approach for Hogan this window and are expected to match, if not better, Watford’s initial offer.
Seven players have played centre forward for West Ham this season who have combined for a total of five goals in 21 appearances. Hence why Slaven Bilic is keen to add to his options in the striker department this window, especially with Jonathan Calleri and Simone Zaza set to depart.
Hogan has been in fine form for Brentford since returning from back-to-back lengthy injury layoffs, having undergone reconstruction surgery on his knee in September 2014, before re-injuring the same knee in April 2015. Hogan – currently the third highest scorer in the Championship – boasts a record of 20 goals in his last 29 league appearances [14 in 25 this season].

Newcastle United were among the favourites for Hogan’s signature but have cooled their interest as the 24-year-old has his sights set on a Premier League move. Rafa Benitez’s side will now turn their attentions elsewhere.
