The international break is finally over and what a way to get back to Premier League action with a fierce London Derby between Tottenham and West Ham at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
Team News
Tottenham – Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen were both doubts for Saturday’s game but they are fine and are expected to feature. Toby Alderweireld, Ben Davies and Erik Lamela remain absent. Dele Alli picked up a knee injury during Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal before the international break and it will be assessed pre-match to see if he is fit. Moussa Sissoko is also returning after a three match ban.
West Ham – Diafra Sakho finally returned to training and has been training for two weeks now ahead of this huge game after a long period out of the side due to many reasons, such as injuries and attitude problems. Sakho will be a huge boost to this West Ham side as no striker has scored for West Ham this season. Andy Carroll and Gokhan Tore are also quickly returning to full fitness by training with the U23s. There were injury doubts for Winston Reid and James Collins during the international break as the two international regulars didn’t play for New Zealand and Wales respectively but they both trained this week and both looked good. Mark Noble is also suspended for this game.
Predicted XIs
Tottenham – 3-4-2-1 – Lloris; Dier, Wimmer, Vertonghen; Walker, Wanyama, Dembele, Rose; Eriksen, Son; Kane.
West Ham – 4-2-3-1 – Randolph; Nordtveit, Reid, Ogbonna, Cresswell; Kouyate, Obiang; Antonio, Payet, Lanzini; Sakho.
History
Tottenham and West Ham have played each other a grand total of 203 time with Tottenham winning 91 times, West Ham winning 61 times and there being 51 draws. The last time these two met, Michail Antonio scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win for the Hammers. Tottenham have won 2 of their last 6 games, having drawn 4 in the Premier League, whilst West Ham are going into this game winning 2, drawing 2 and losing 2 of their last 6 games in the league. This will be a very tough game for the Hammers but they always seem to step up in the big games like this but Tottenham are a very good side.
Score Prediction
Tottenham 1-1 West Ham
