After a disappointing game in Romania, the Hammers really wanted to push on and get a win in the first ever Premier League game at the London Stadium. However, it was never going to be as easy as it should’ve been! West Ham are really struggling with injuries so the team they were forced to field will probably be the standard of our team for the cup games.
Anyway, the Hammers dominated most of the game, however, struggled to make the various chances count in the first half. They seemed to come out for the second half a little lazy and Bournemouth seemed to have the upper hand in the first five minutes. Unfortunately for the Cherries, it all calmed down and in the 76th minute, Harry Arter got sent off for a second bookable offence.
Now this was really a game for West Ham to lose! Fortunately, Michail Antonio came to the rescue once again as he managed to convert Gokhan Tore’s cross. From then on the Hammers went on to win and gain their first three points of the season. Here we look at five things we learnt
