Talks may have stalled, but Reece Oxford wants to restart negotiations with West Ham over a new contract according to the Daily Mail. Oxford is one of the most highly-rated of the players to come out of the academy in recent years, and Slaven Bilic is eager to not lose him to a top club, stopping his plans to build.
The youngster made his debut for The Hammers last season, making three starts in the Europa League before his bow in the Premier League, in a 2-0 win at Arsenal which caught the eye of bigger clubs almost immediately.

He has continued to be linked with a move away during the summer, with Manchester City rumoured to be interested earlier in the summer, but looks more likely to stay than ever with his desire to re-enter in contract talks, which have previously broken down.
Oxford wants to carry on plying his trade at the Olympic Stadium, but he and his representatives want a contract more reflective of the £15 million price-tag slapped on him by West Ham. The club and player are alike in that they both want a new deal signed, but are quite a way apart in relation to terms, meaning a contract isn’t on the brink of being signed.

Manchester United could be ready to pounce if Oxford decides to leave, viewing him as a player with the potential to become a vital figure at Old Trafford as they look to recover after three poor years. They have sent scouts to watch the 17-year-old, and The Hammers will want to get a deal signed and sealed quickly in order to ward off any interest from potential suitors.
