West Ham target Carlos Bacca has been given an ultimatum on his future by AC Milan: make a decision by the end of the week on joining West Ham, or you’re staying. It appears the Italian club has grown as disillusioned as the Hammers in waiting for the Columbian to make his mind up and have insisted on a yes or no answer, which benefits both parties.
This may feel like déjà vu for West Ham fans, however, with Bacca previously claiming that he would make his decision within the next 48 hours. That was now 13 days ago. 312 hours, to be precise. Having waited this long though, I doubt they will mind waiting another few days.
It is well known that Bacca was holding out for a Champions League club to make an offer equaling West Ham’s for him, with Napoli being the primary suitors. They’ve now signed Arkadiusz Milik for £30m so a bid for Bacca is no longer viable, while PSG – another of his options – have said they’re no longer interested.
There seems to be a pattern developing of clubs rejecting Bacca and strikers rejecting West Ham – almost as if the two are destined to end up together. With the signing of Calleri also impending, it seems the Hammers could finally put an end to their striker woes. But then again, this is West Ham we’re talking about.
