West Ham have reignited their interest in Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi this summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, quoted by Sport Witness.
The Hammers have shown interest around Icardi since the start of the summer and according to Gazzetta, Inter had received an offer from West Ham earlier this summer and turned it down.
The Italian side are not afraid of entering negotiations however they will want at least €40m for their captain and star player. Unfortunately for the Hammers they’re not the only team interested as Atletico Madrid are also keeping tabs on the 23-year-old but are yet to submit a formal offer.

The Argentine international is one of an every growing list of talents to have emerged from Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy but decided to move to Italian football in January 2011 with Sampdoria initially on loan but made the move permanent that summer for just £200,000.
He broke into the first team in the 2013/13 season where he netted 10 times in 31 appearances and was subsequently picked up by Inter Milan in a deal reportedly worth £10m. He has an impressive goal every other game record with Inter, netting 52 times in 105 appearances while also assisting 15 times.
Icardi has also been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal but the Inter star remains a top target of the Hammers who have been struggling in their efforts to recruit a big name striker.
