West Ham have launched a staggering €52million (approximately £40million) bid for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, according to French source L’Equipe, via GFFN.
The Hammers have seen two bids turned down for the striker already this summer, the latest being worth £32million with the Ligue 1 side valuing their star striker at nearer £40million.
It was thought that West Ham would end their pursuit after the negative response received to their second bid, but L’Equipe have revealed the Hammers have gone all out with one last attempt.

GFFN say the deal is “far from done” even if Lyon accept the latest bid. West Ham still have a task on their hands to convince Lacazette to move to East London – even with the new stadium, Europa League, huge pay packet and the added incentive of living in London.
Lacazette netted 23 times last season for Lyon, the third straight season he topped 20 goals in Ligue 1 making him the ideal target for the Hammers who are desperately seeking a 20-goal-a-season forward.
The French international remains West Ham’s number one target this summer, but it remains to be seen whether a deal for the 24-year-old will ever be reached. He is also wanted by reigning Ligue 1 champions PSG.
