Cash-strapped Marseille face a fight to keep hold of one of their most impressive young talents as both West Ham and Leicester are keen on signing Benjamin Mendy this summer.
According to France Football and L’Equipe journalist Nabil Djellit, Mendy will likely leave Marseille this summer and has two options on the table from the Hammers as well as the Premier League champions.

A contributing factor to Mendy’s departure would be the imminent arrival of Henri Bedimo. The left-back is available on a free transfer after his release from Lyon and is set to join Marseille in the coming days.

Marseille are in danger of being demoted to Ligue 2 if they fail to balance their books by the end of the month. They have already budgeted for the big-name departures of Michy Batshuayi (who is still at the club) as well as Steve Mandanda and Nicolas N’koulou but it’s also likely that Mendy will follow them out of the exit door.
The 21-year-old France youth international has caught the eye in Ligue 1 this past season and would be a welcome addition to the West Ham squad. Aaron Cresswell has been fantastic in his two seasons at the club, but there isn’t anyone behind him in case of injury – not to mention the constant transfer links to the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool.
