West Ham remained unbeaten at the Boleyn Ground this season with Saturday’s 3-3 draw to Arsenal. Falling down early 2-0, West Ham were brought back in right before the half time whistle by two Andy Carroll goals.
Carroll would complete the hat-trick early in the second half, securing West Ham a point from the London Derby. The Hammers remain in sixth place in the Premier League, but seemingly dash Arsenal’s title hopes with the draw.
Again, referee decisions take centre stage at a West Ham game. Manuel Lanzini tucked away the opening goal early in the first half, only to be wrongfully called offside. Hector Bellerin left Lanzini onside by nearly two yards.
A short while later, Mesut Ozil put Arsenal in the lead after a close offsides line went in Ozil’s favour. The benefit to the attacker should have gone to Lanzini too only moments prior.
