The Daily Star are reporting that newly-appointed Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce is targeting some current and former West Ham players as he looks to rebuild his squad in the North-East.
According to the report, Allardyce has his sights set on defender James Tomkins. The 26-year-old centre-back is expected to be available for a fee in the region of £10m. The Englishman has featured in all but one of West Ham’s league games so far this season, so it remains to be seen whether the Hammers would be willing to let him leave.

Allardyce is also reportedly interested in two of his former West Ham players too. He is apparently looking at signing former midfielder Kevin Nolan, who he managed during his time as Newcastle boss as well as at West Ham. Nolan is currently a free agent having been released by the club earlier this year

Another free-agent reportedly on Sam’s radar is winger Morgan Amalfitano, who left West Ham this week after being frozen out of the first-team following an argument with boss Slaven Bilic.
