West Ham’s deal for Serbian international forward is back on

Having missed out on AC Milan forward Alessandro Matri, West Ham are now turning their attention towards fellow Serie A striker Adem Ljajic, in spite of the player rejecting a move to Upton Park earlier in the month.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Hammers’ deal for the 23-year-old is still a possibility, as the East London club look to bring in at least one more player before the summer transfer window officially shuts tomorrow at 6pm.

Italian top tier side Inter Milan are also reportedly interested in signing the Serbian international, so the Irons will have some stern competition from Roberto Mancini’s team. Ljajic has one goal in twelve appearances for his national senior side.

Roma’s number 22 joined the capital city club from Fiorentina two years ago, in 2013, for €11million, but has failed to make a huge impact under Rudi Garcia. Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko has already swapped Manchester for Rome, placing Ljajic even further down the pecking order.
