West Ham United have opted not to sign Nottingham Forest forward Michail Antonio, according to HITC Sport sources. The £7.5million price tag was enough to put off the East London club, who will now turn their attention to other attacking targets.
The 25-year-old had been linked with a move to the Boleyn Ground, with Matt Jarvis potentially moving in the opposite direction, but any kind of deal with regards to Antonio is now off the cards. He would have become the tenth summer arrival at Upton Park.
Slaven Bilic is desperately on the lookout for some new creative players, especially following the departure of Stewart Downing to the Championship.
In addition to this, the lack of strikers has not aided the cause either as the Irons lack a real goal-scoring threat. Andy Carroll, Mauro Zarate and Enner Valencia are all currently sidelined with injury issues, whilst Diafra Sakho is struggling with off the field incidents.
