Kevin Nolan’s departure has been confirmed, following a four-year spell at the club. Having been signed at the Boleyn Ground by Sam Allardyce, the captain helped the team bounce back from the Championship and into the Premier League earlier this decade.
The 32-year-old has had his contract terminated, in spite of featuring as a starter in the recent 4-3 loss at home to newly promoted AFC Bournemouth. It is also rumoured that the Englishman could return to one of his old clubs in the form of Bolton Wanderers, who are currently managed by Neil Lennon.
Nolan has scored 31 goals for the Hammers since making the move in 2011, but has never been capped for the England national team during that time, despite making a couple of performances for the England U21s.
We thank him for his time and service to the club and wish him all the best for the future. Modibo Maiga, another player who played last weekend, has also left Upton Park recently.
