West Ham have opened talks with Serie A side Roma with regards to winger Gervinho, according to Simon Jones of the Daily Mail. The 28-year-old has a plethora of Premier League experience, having previously played for Arsenal under Arsene Wenger, in addition to regular playing time in the UEFA Champions League.
Gervinho played 83 minutes of Roma’s 2015/16 season opener against Hellas Verona in the Italian top tier, before being substituted in a 1-1 away draw. The winger possesses decent versatitlity, as he can play as an attacking midfielder or even up front if need be, in addition to his favourable role as a winger.
During the 2015 Africa Cup Of Nations, the Ivorian helped his country to victory at the tournament, scoring two goals in the process. However, he could only manage two goals in Serie A during the whole of last season, hence why he was extremely close to leaving the Italian capital earlier in the transfer window.
