Chris Ramsey is keen to see a deal for reported West Ham United target Charlie Austin tied up soon, with the striker having still not departed Loftus Road following relegation from the Premier League last season. The Englishman’s exploits in the top-flight have earned interest from a number of teams in the league, but few as yet seem willing to pay the £15 million it would take to persuade the QPR chiefs to let go of the striker.
There were rumours that Austin was set to be offered a new contract if he can’t be moved on this summer, but The R’s will be keen to see him sold for as much as possible, seeing as they likely won’t get as much for him after he’s spent a year in the Championship, regardless of their successes in the coming campaign.

Speaking to the press, and quoted by the Evening Standard, QPR manager Chris Ramsey said: “If a club wants him and come in and make firm offers, and if the owners think it’s the right offer, then he’ll go.”
“All we’re looking for is a firm offer to get this thing sorted one way or another.”

“We haven’t had any firm offers for Charlie and as far as we’re concerned he’s a QPR player and will want to do his best to get his goal-scoring tally up to where it was last year.”
“As we know, things can happen – usually at the last minute – and all clubs must look at players and think they might not still be there. But at the moment I can’t really see how things are going to pan out.”
Austin made 35 starts in the Premier League last season, and despite how his team’s season ended he still managed to bag 18 goals, which has led to interest from West Ham, Tottenham, Newcastle, and Chelsea, although their interest has dimmed in recent weeks.
