Hammers forward Diafra Sakho looks likely to miss Saturday’s home game against Leicester City, having been arrested on suspicion of various charges last Thursday evening.
The Newham Recorder report that the 25-year-old had been taken to a police station following the arrest in Hornchurch, having been accused of assault, criminal damage and vengeful communications.
Sakho started the Premier League season opener away at Arsenal, in which West Ham United came away with an impressive 2-0 victory. However, the Senegalese striker was reportedly arrested just days prior to the trip to the Emirates.
In spite of being bailed until the middle of Autumn, Slaven Bilic may drop Sakho from the starting line-up regardless. His zero tolerance policy was evident when he recently banished French midfielder Morgan Amalfitano from training with the first team.
Having signed from Metz in the summer of 2014, Sakho finished his debut season in the Premier League as the club’s top goal-scorer, with ten goals in twenty starts.
