West Ham United are rather close to completing a deal for Manchester United man Javier Hernandez, according to Spanish media outlet Fichajes. He did not feature in the season opener against Tottenham Hotspur last Saturday.
The Mexican forward would be the tenth signing of the summer for new manager Slaven Bilic, as the East London club look to sign another goal scorer before the closure of the current transfer window.
A fee of around £10.6million is being touted for the 27-year-old, however, this number is likely to rise with various extras. Fellow countryman Raul Jimenez looks set to snub the Boleyn Ground club, but fortunately for Bilic, Hernandez is said to be in advanced negotiations.
Injuries to Englishman Andy Carroll and Ecuadorian Enner Valencia have left the Hammers with just two recognised forwards in Diafra Sakho and Mauro Zarate, with the latter scoring in the first game of the season away at Arsenal.
