The Metro report that West Ham United could make a shock swoop for Paris Saint-Germain defender Lucas Digne. The Frenchman was said to be close to joining Italian side Roma, but the Hammers are set to make last minute attempt to bring him to Upton Park.
Digne was signed by the French champions from fellow Ligue 1 side Lille two years ago but has failed to live up to the high expectations that were set by the capital city club. According to Italian media outlet Tutto Mercato, Digne could make the move to the Boleyn Ground for a fee of around £5.6million.
Slaven Bilic has already signed the French top tier’s best man for assists, Dimitri Payet, and the addition of Lucas Digne would be another fabulous buy for the East London club. The left-back has also been linked with fellow Premier League side Liverpool this summer, and would provide good competition for Hammer of the Year Aaron Cresswell.
