Former Hammer, Rio Ferdinand, claims West Ham target Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez has “best movement in the world.”
Ferdinand, speaking to The Guardian, made it clear Hernandez is a worthy alternate in attack to Wayne Rooney at Manchester United.
Manchester United have sold Robin van Persie to Galatasaray, and did not keep Radamel Falcao after his loan spell with the club, but the club have yet to bring in any replacements for the players.
Until another attacking option is signed, Chicharito remains a Red Devil, but his abilities are not necessarily appreciated by manager Louis van Gaal.
“He [Chicharito] is a fantastic player – how he is not a regular in that team baffles me,” said former United centre-back Ferdinand.
“I think in terms of movement, when the ball goes wide, he has the best movement in the world.”
West Ham continue to monitor the situation with Hernandez as Andy Carroll and Enner Valencia are both injured. Carroll and Valencia could both return as soon as October, yet the Hammers are keen on bringing in more firepower.
As reported earlier, West Ham have made a fresh bid of £11.9million for the Mexican international to tempt van Gaal’s resolve of keeping the striker, even if not in first team plans.
Chicharito’s international teammate Raul Jimenez is set to sign on a season-long loan from Atletico Madrid as well.
