Ogbonna Happy At Upton Park

New boy Angelo Ogbonna is happy with the start to his career at West Ham, he tells whufc.com. The centre-back, who arrived from Juventus earlier in the month, played the entire match on Saturday against Charlton Athletic, and helped hold a clean sheet at The Valley.

With the Premier League less than two weeks away, Ogbonna is eager to take on Arsenal on 9 August at the Emirates.

It was a very good game on Saturday. The important thing for me and the team is the conditioning and that’s coming. We look confident with the ball and it was good to have 90 minutes to play and prepare everything for the next game.

I like this team, this is what I wanted to do [in coming to the Premier League]. We want to play forward and we want to win. We want to celebrate the last season at the Boleyn Ground – that’s important and we are in more competitions with the Europa League, so we’re preparing well.

With Ogbonna ready to perform at such a high level, it could see starlet Reece Burke go out on loan. The Young Hammer of the Year has expressed his willingness to get first team football elsewhere as the Hammers’ central defence has many faces all vying for first team action.
