West Ham expected to sell at least five players, with the likely names revealed
  • West Ham need to raise £150m this summer
  • A number of players will leave the club in the window
  • The five big names have been revealed

West Ham United are attempting to prepare for life in the Championship this season. So far, it has been far from smooth sailing for the Hammers as there are a number of road blocks standing in the way of the team rebuilding.

Nuno Espirito Santo has committed his future to West Ham for the upcoming season, but the club need to raise £150 million before they can bring in players, with a number of first-team stars expected to leave.

Whilst there are problems on the pitch, it is the same off it. Moves are expected at the top of the club as well as in the backroom, with recruitment specialists leaving the Irons as the cogs move to help the team into a new era.

West Ham will sell at least five players this summer

West Ham have to sell this summer and the five names expected to definitely go in the window have now been revealed.

According to The Athletic, Mateus Fernandes, Crysencio Summerville, Alphonse Areola, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Jean-Clair Todibo will all leave the club.

The hope is that the sale of these five players will raise the £150 million needed, whilst for players like Jarrod Bowen, it allows the club to attempt to keep the Hammers captain at the club.

Fernandes is expected to attract the biggest fee, whilst Summerville has interest from all around Europe and in the Premier League. Mavropanos is another that could pull a big fee given his performances last season, with a return to Germany available for the defender.

For Areola and Todibo, their future is uncertain but neither want to play in the Championship and both command larger wages. The two players will likely not pull in a high fee, but neither are expected to be West Ham players come the opening day of the season.
