- West Ham are in pole position to stay in the Premier League this season
- The Hammers have retained interest in AC Milan’s Youssouf Fofana
- The midfielder is expected to leave the Rossoneri this summer
West Ham United are in control of their Premier League destiny this season and have now emerged as a frontrunner in chase for AC Milan midfielder, Youssouf Fofana.
The Hammers have been long-term admirers of the 27-year-old and could finally make a move for the midfielder this summer, should they confirm their top flight status.
This season, Fofana has been a regular in the Milan side under Massimo Allegri, but the Rossoneri are prepared to let the France international go for a reasonable price. Should West Ham secure Premier League survival, Fofana could be the number one target as they look to strengthen their midfield going forward.

West Ham had attempted to sign Fofana back in 2024, when the midfielder was on the books of Monaco. Instead, the midfielder would make the move to Serie A with Milan, where he has been for the past two seasons.
Despite the 27-year-old being heavily involved in his time at the San Siro, the club are prepared to sell Fofana, and the Premier League could be his destination. Milan believe that the midfielder can be upgraded in their eyes, and want to use his sale to fund the purchase of a younger or higher pedigree replacement.

The Rossoneri have been heavily linked with Bayern Munich’s Leon Goretzka, who is leaving the German giants when his contract expires this summer.
According to Tuttosport, Fofana will be made available for £26 million in the summer window, and West Ham have been named as the leading Premier League side in the race to secure the 27-year-old’s services.
Unfortunately for the Hammers, the midfielder is not short of interest from elsewhere. Ligue 1 clubs alongside several big Turkish sides are after the player. The Irons will be hoping the pull of the Premier League, and not a huge contract, can finally bring Fofana to the London Stadium.
