West Ham United may well benefit from the upcoming Qatar World Cup, with Nayef Aguerd granted a chance to get a run of valuable minutes under his belt.
That is according to injury expert Ben Dinnery, who has informed GIVEMESPORT that the upcoming tournament is not to be dreaded and can instead work out for the best.
A run of games in Qatar could see Aguerd work his way back to his best, a sentiment that Dinnery stands strongly with.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the injury expert said: “The talk around what impact the World Cup will have on players during the second half of the season?
“Well, for Aguerd, that’s on the other end of the scale, that’s actually going to help the Hammers as he’s going to be getting those competitive minutes under his belt, and he should be fully refreshed and ready to go in the second half of the season.
“So, the World Cup could be a blessing for West Ham. We might not see him on the pitch before the break, but certainly coming into the second half of the season, I think he’d be a big player for them.”
A blessing in disguise
£30million defender Aguerd commenced his career at the London stadium in one of the worst ways possible.
Suffering a serious blow to his ankle in a pre-season friendly against Rangers was the last thing that he would have wanted, nor expected when making the switch to England.
But, he’s out of that period now and is slowly making his way to full fitness, after being eased in across two of the Hammers’ Europa Conference League fixtures.
A run with Morocco in Qatar can give Aguerd regular opportunities to continue his venture back to his best, with West Ham set to benefit in this case within their season revival mission following the tournament.
