West Ham United are set for an influx of cash in the upcoming January transfer window.
That is according to a report from Calciomercato, who claim the Hammers’ Croatian loanee Nikola Vlasic is set to make his move to Torino permanent, having impressed the side, and more importantly, the club’s owner and president Urbano Cairo who is willing to dig deep to keep him in Turin.
As per the claims, previous reports claimed that the Serie A side wanted Vlasic for less than the €15m (£12.9m) purchase price, but in a shock twist, it looks as though Cairo will meet West Ham’s full asking price in order to get the deal over the line ahead of the winter window.
Another man’s trash…
You know exactly how the saying goes, and it rings true in this scenario.
Despite making 31 appearances for the Hammers, Vlasic failed to make his mark during his second stint in the Premier League and succumbed to just a single goal before being shipped out on loan to the Serie A.
At Torino, Vlasic has asserted himself as a regular and currently sits as il Toro’s top scorer with three goals for a side that sits ninth in the Italian top division.
He has adapted well to Italian football with his anticipated departure set to bring a nice boost of cash to the pocket of David Moyes in January.
