West Ham United’s reported interest in Valencia midfielder Hugo Guillamon is a transfer story to keep an eye out for in the coming months.
That is according to transfer insider Dean Jones, who has informed GIVEMESPORT that the young Spaniard is a midfielder that West Ham would “probably be looking for.”
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Jones said: “I don’t know too much about this one, but certainly it seems like a player that they will probably be looking for.
“It’s not an obvious one that the top five or six will be looking at, but you can imagine that that situation will change soon if he continues to improve at the rate he’s been improving at. So, I think it’s one to look out for.”
One to watch
£27k-per-week assist leader Guillamon is a midfielder that most Premier League fans will not be too familiar with.
Though, he is somewhat of a metronome in the heart of Valencia boss Gennaro Gattuso’s midfield.
The 22-year-old is involved in the majority of Valencia’s play, demonstrating his well-roundedness by averaging 3.2 shots per 90, creating 15 big chances as well as achieving an average of 5.0 accurate long balls per 90.
His creative ability sees him register a squad-topping 3.0 chances created, whilst his average of 46.6 accurate passes per 90 sees him as one of Gattuso’s vital cogs in the engine room.
The Hammers would do well to sign such a well-rounded midfield star, with his efforts as a La Liga regular seeing him earn a call-up to the Spain National Team – a big feat with the World Cup just around the corner.
