West Ham United could prove to be “a really good platform” for Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez.
That is according to transfer insider Dean Jones, who has informed GIVEMESPORT of the latest news surrounding the Mexico international.
The insider believes that a switch to the London Stadium could be “perfect” for Alvarez, in a move that would be of equal benefit to the Hammers.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Jones said: “I don’t think anyone has been quite convinced yet that he could make the difference to them in terms of making Champions League football.
“So, finding one of those clubs just beneath that, someone like West Ham, can be perfect for him and might actually be a really good platform.”
Moyes’ £43m dream
The signing of Alvarez, whether or not skipper Declan Rice stays at the club, would no doubt bolster the Hammers in the midfield ranks.
In the £43million Mexican we are looking at an indispensable and progressive midfield pivot who shines in both sides of the game.
With his progressiveness in such a role for Ajax, you get the impression that a switch to a side that makes use of a double-pivot set-up, in the way that David Moyes does, would make him somewhat of a dream signing for the 59-year-old.
Averaging 3.5 accurate long balls, 3.5 clearances and 1.5 successful tackles per 90, Alvarez has shone in all aspects of the Eredivisie campaign so far and would suit the Hammers down to a tee.
This is a move that the club should be looking to action in the short-term.
