Amidst the speculation, Forest had opened talks with the exciting Wales international over a new contract but those discussions would appear to have stalled.
That’s according to a report from Football Insider, claiming that Johnson is in ‘no rush’ to sign a new deal with the Championship club.
The report states that the seven-cap attacker ‘wants to see what other offers come in’ at the end of the season before committing.
So far this season the youngster hailed a ‘livewire’ by Rob Page has scored 11 times and provided five assists in 35 appearances across all competitions.

Valued at £900,000 and under contract at the City Ground until 2023 (Transfermarkt), the £19million mooted asking price would appear to be on the ambitious side for a player unproven in the top flight.
Having said that, Johnson is undoubtedly a superb talent with a bright future in the game. One David Moyes would love to add to the ranks in East London.
At the right fee, the versatile Welshman would certainly be a worthwhile addition to the squad.
