Mark Lawrenson predicts EPL defeat for ‘leggy’ West Ham

West Ham are enduring somewhat of a rollercoaster in recent weeks when it comes to Premier League results.

The Hammers have retained their place in the top four despite a mixed bag in terms of outcomes.

Victory over Chelsea looked set to see the Irons kick on again before a goalless draw against Burnley provided another bump in the road.

David Moyes’ side will now travel to North London to face Arsenal and BBC Sport pundit Mark Lawrenson has tipped more disappointment for West Ham.

I have a feeling the Gunners will get another victory here because, as good as West Ham have been, they are just starting to look a little bit leggy. The Hammers were nowhere near their best in their draw at Burnley on Sunday and, although they are still fourth, they have only won one of their past five games.

Lawrenson went on to tip Arsenal to overcome Moyes’ men 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium – a result that would see the Irons’ usurped in the Champions League qualification places.

There remains hope that Aaron Cresswell may feature but Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna remain long-term absentees.

Another defeat would be a crushing blow for the Hammers given their lowly recent form.

However, Arsenal are going through somewhat of a mire themselves and the controversial stripping of the captaincy from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang can’t have helped matters.

West Ham will look to capitalise on the uncertainty and return to winning ways.
