West Ham midfielder Alex Kral has recently returned to fitness following a period out with Covid-19.
The 23-year-old has been sidelined for the last five matches due to isolation and illness.
This week Irons’ boss David Moyes said that the Czech ace is in a ‘better place now’ having undergone a troubling spell.
Speaking to Football Insider, injury expert Ben Dinnery has his own views on Kral’s return.
He was really struggling in the first three or four days. If he was asymptomatic, he might be looking to maintain base-level fitness away from the training ground. But he did miss a small chunk of training when he was away. We know that this affects the respiratory system. But it looks as though, physically at least, it hasn’t affected him too much. But he’s training away from that highly competitive environment, which is highly charged and full of testosterone. You can’t replicate that, even in the best gyms in the world. So yes, you’re going to see your fitness levels dip.
On a season long loan from Spartak Moscow, Kral has made eight appearances for Moyes’ side and will be hoping to earn a permanent move at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.

Moyes will hope Kral can be ready for action as soon as possible.
In an ideal world, the 27-cap star would feature against Genk in order to offer Declan Rice or Soucek a well-earned rest.
Of course the player’s well being comes first and having struggled with illness every precaution will rightfully be taken before we see the £9million valued Kral back playing.
