West Ham have been named as potential suitors for Liverpool striker Divock Origi before the end of the transfer window.
The Hammers need a striker before the deadline passes and have previously been linked with a move for the 26-year-old.
Despite producing on the biggest stage for the Anfield club, Origi is out of favour on Merseyside and could be sold before August 31.
Speaking on talkSPORT (Sunday, August 22 7:45pm), transfer expert Alex Crook claimed that the Hammers could be in the market for the Belgian.
I wouldn’t rule that out between now and the end of the month. He’s out of contract at the end of the season and Liverpool might even extend and loan him out to try and sell him next summer. West Ham need a striker and there’s a connection between West Ham and an agent Origi has recently signed up with. He might be one of the players that moves on between now and the deadline.
This comes as a report from The Athletic claims that Liverpool are ‘open to offers’ for the frontman once described as ‘outstanding’ by Jurgen Klopp.
Origi was left out of the matchday squad over the weekend as Klopp’s side beat Burnley 2-0 at Anfield.
Last season the 29-cap ace scored once in 17 appearances across all competitions.
READ WEST HAM VERDICT
West Ham certainly need a striker before the end of the window.
As things stand David Moyes will be naming a squad with only Michail Antonio available as a senior centre-forward option when the Irons face Leicester City tonight.
Valued at £10.8million (Transfermarkt), Liverpool would reportedly be willing to accept bids in the region of £12million for the Belgian, a fee West Ham should be willing to meet.
