West Ham have reportedly ‘made enquiries’ regarding RC Lens right-back Jonathan Clauss this summer.
Irons’ boss David Moyes is keen to strengthen the squad before the transfer window closes in 13 days.
The 29-year-old French defender could be a potential option for both the Hammers and Everton following a superb 2020/21 Ligue 1 campaign.
According to a report from Homme du Match, as cited by Everton Talks Nsno on Twitter, West Ham have already made their intentions known for Clauss.

The report claims Lens will block a potential Premier League switch for their uncapped Frenchman – who was named among the top five players in France by reputable newspaper L’Equipe last season.
Clauss scored three times and registered seven assists in 34 Ligue 1 outings during a successful newly promoted campaign in 2020/21.

Valued at £7.2million and under contract until 2023 (Transfermarkt), signing the full-back would represent a healthy outlay for the club.
Having only signed Vladimir Coufal last summer and the Czech star’s impact in east London, as well as Ben Johnson’s emergence – enquiries for such an experienced performer, would raise questions as to the motive.
Perhaps the reported issues with Coufal’s contract run deeper than speculated.
